About the Conference

International conference MEET (MANAGEMENT, ECONOMICS, ETHICS, TECHNICS) has been held at the Saint Petersburg mining University since 2014.

For eleven years, the conference has been an open discussion platform for discussing topical management, social, economic and environmental problems and priorities in the sustainable development of the extractive industries, as well as the development of international scientific and technical cooperation in the field of rational management of mineral resources, the use of remote methods international interaction in the field of science and education.

Participants of the conference MEET–2025 will be able to present their research online via the Cisco WebEx service and discuss the most important problems of the industry with leading experts of the mineral resource complex.

Purposes of the Conference

The conference is held in order to seek, develop and support promising young researchers, having a high level of leadership and professional competences, create a communication platform for exchange of experience between participants, assisting in their further development and sharing of best practices. It is also aimed at evolving of international scientific and technical connections of University, improving University's image, propaganda of its best achievements in educational and scientific activities, search and support of talented young researchers from students of general education institutions.

Conditions and form of participation

General information

  • Reports for breakout sessions are submitted in English.
  • To participate in the conference, participants should fill out the registration form and upload their abstracts.
  • Participation in the conference is possible only if you make a report, the abstracts of which have been pre-selected by the expert Commission. No registration fee is required for participants.
  • The conference participants' articles can be be published after peer-review in a special issue of the journals: Resources, Energies, Resources.

Format of the event

The conference will be held in a fundamentally new video conference format using the Cisco WebEx. The platform allows up to 3000 participants from anywhere in the world to make a live presentation, listeners ‒ to ask both live questions and in text message format. All the participants will have 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for Q&A.

The participants will need a minimum set of equipment: a computer (laptop) with a camera and a microphone and Internet access. All participants will be provided with the necessary technical support and links to the videoconference.

Empress Catherine II Saint Petersburg Mining University

On October 21, 1773, Catherine II wrote on the decree on the establishment of the engineering school for mining ‘may it be so’. This date became the birthday of all higher technical education in Russia.

Today St. Petersburg Mining University trains highly qualified engineering personnel for major Russian and foreign companies engaged in forecasting, prospecting, exploration, development and processing of the most important types of minerals - oil, gas, ores of noble, non-ferrous and rare metals, precious stones.
